Who

Spirit Health is a leading provider of Digital Health solutions, specialising in remote patient monitoring, mobile health applications, and AI-powered services. Their mission is to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes by leveraging innovative technology to enhance clinical efficiency, boost patient engagement, and deliver more personalised care. One of their flagship platforms, Booking Hub, empowers doctors to refer patients for diabetes monitoring and education. This platform plays a crucial role in helping individuals manage their condition and live healthier, freer lives. However, the existing application, built on an outdated ASP .NET/SQL architecture, had become difficult to scale and lacked modern features.

What

Spirit Health approached us to rebuild their Booking Hub platform, migrating it to a modern tech stack that could support their growing needs. The goal was to deliver a scalable, efficient, and feature-rich platform built on Next.js, React.js, and MongoDB. In addition to the migration, we were tasked with enhancing the platform’s user experience by modernising its UI and implementing a complete UI kit, including a component library. The brief also included DevOps consultancy and the setup of Kubernetes for streamlined deployment and scalability.

How

The project began with in-depth discovery sessions to understand the platform’s existing pain points and Spirit Health’s long-term vision. We provided end-to-end services, including UI design, UX consultancy, Backend and Frontend Engineering, Technical Leadership, Project Management, and Quality Assurance Testing. The migration to Next.js and React.js allowed us to deliver a more dynamic and efficient frontend experience, while MongoDB provided a scalable NoSQL database solution to handle the application’s growing data demands. By creating a complete UI kit with a reusable component library, we ensured consistency across the platform and simplified future updates.

To enable reliable and scalable deployments, we introduced Kubernetes for container orchestration, enhancing the platform’s DevOps capabilities. Incremental delivery was a key strategy throughout the project, allowing us to deploy features in manageable stages and ensure a smooth transition for Spirit Health and their users.
