The bulk of the project was about creating a wallet section on the Utility Warehouse Clubhouse mobile app. It was an Android and iOS app that allowed customers to view their account at a glance, and make changes quicker and easier than from the web.

The new wallet section had to be many things, but above all else, it needed to be modern, on-brand, and easy to use. The brief was to redesign the UI for the new wallet and make sure it was intuitive, reliable, and compliant with the latest banking security measures.

How

We started with the app’s account and card management system. To build this, we used an agile delivery process. This meant we could update developers early and often and leave a good amount of time for testing, too.

While the brief was on point, there was one thing missing that we felt would be beneficial to the app and Utility Warehouse. And that was the option to block and unblock a debit card with a click of a button within the app. The Utility Warehouse agreed, and so we added this feature.

This project brought a lot of challenges, too. Like implementing 3D secure card transactions within the chosen framework.

Overall, the project lasted around 8 months. We built a strong relationship with the guys at Utility Warehouse and worked in collaboration to get things done on time and budget.

Since completing the app, we continue to work on regular updates and nice-to-have functionalities, such as form validations to help grow the app.
